Reading time: 5,10 minutes
There’s a strange thing about high performers.
We’re usually very good at continuing.
One more hour.
One more trade.
One more attempt.
One more adjustment.
One more conversation.
There’s always something else we could do.
The difficulty is not knowing how or when to stop.
Because stopping comes with a hard pill to swallow: something will remain unfinished.
And that’s uncomfortable as hell.
Part of you will always wonder what would have happened if you kept going. If you took one more trade. Worked one more hour. Said one more thing. Tried one more time.
You don’t get closure. You get a decision.
And after coaching 100+ traders one-on-one, giving each of those conversations my full attention, here’s what I found:
The real skill isn’t knowing when there’s nothing left to do. It’s knowing when to leave something on the table anyway and learning to live with that.
This post was inspired by that realization.
